Injury

"Trying not to be dramatic... but I ran into the car/ the car ran into me this morning, my foot is swelling. Preschools are dangerous places to work at." That's my Facebook status for the moment. Totally dramatic! LOL

Anyways. It happened this morning when I picked up KJ to go to the toilet to wash up, when I started to walk a car came and ran over my foot right into my leg. (You can imagine the leg's a lamp post and the foot is the pavement)

Instantly it felt so painful, I put the kid down and complained in pain. The driver was feeling super guilty, and so was the passenger. I assured them that it's not their fault for I wasn't really looking (cuz they ngam-ngam was under the kid I was carrying), but they felt sorry anyways. *Aww*

Anyways I sat and whined for quite a while and decided to move on. Later on the afternoon when I tried to sit crossing my legs it hurt like a bad bruise. I told the LaoPanNiang that I'm going off for a leave tomorrow to amputate. The colleagues suggested to rub it with medicine, Miss Boss even suggested to boil an egg to rub it. *roll eyes*

Anyways it swell more obviously later in the evening, and it's still evening now at almost 7pm. It's hurting more as I walk. Grrrrr. I told Miss Boss I'm going to the hospital for the surgery tomorrow, can come visit me on Wed. =) I'm gonna take sick leave until the end of the week and gonna ask for medical compensation from the kids!

Chowrasta Market Second Hand bookstores

I'm supposed to, but not ashamed to admit that I went to the infamous Chowrasta Market today. It's around Komtar area sort of, in town. It's supposed to be very famous, so you should be able to ask a few locals/tourists to get your way there.

Anyways, there are some a lot of second hand bookstores upstairs, deeper in than the clothing stores. There were thousands of millions of books, magazine and books! Old, new, children, entertainment, classics, fictions, from Dan Brown's Lost Symbols to JK Rowling's Harry Potter Series, to Shopaholics, to children's books, to old old super classics to STPM books to Organizational behavior and Physics and Bio to foreign languages dictionaries! My gosh, mind blown. I've never seen so many books at a place ever, ever.

Some books are cheap, from RM2-3 to more expensive. There are brand new books, old books, ancient books, used books, you name it. I saw 3 versions of Harry Potter! Awesome cool!

I know this is most probably unrelated, but mum is now talking on the phone and my cousin is having twins!!! OMG! Excited so muchie!

Back to the topic, wow, really a book heaven. Smelling all the book dusts and all, if I have money and determination to read and of course room to store, I would go crazy. All the books I've wanted to read at a much lower price. =D

The weirdest conversation

Today we spent lots of time trying to make our colloquium display.

Jassic asked if I was looking for a boyfriend for she wanna introduce her brother to me. That was the most weirdest conversation I've ever had with a friend.

Clubbin'

Last night we went clubbing, mum dad Jo and I.

We went into a 'club' and stood there like everybody else... If that was really what clubbing is about, it's really way more boring than I thought it would be.

Everyone stood with one drink in front of them. Some tapping to the rhythm of the extreme loud bass-music, some just stood there staring blankly. First impression other than the super loud bass, people look rather dumb standing in boredom in front of their drink.

So we stood there for hours. Slowly there arer more people, and some people go dancing at the narrow 'dance floor'. Hmm, looks like an expensive and air conditioned campfire, where people dance their awkward dance moves shouting to the 'singing' band.

Then count down to Merdeka, it was really really really weird to count down to the country's national day in a club, a freakin club. Yea like these people love their country. Man. Wrong place. I asked myself why I was even there. Bleh.

Like Prom, I've always thought clubbing is not something for me, something that I will just be fine with watching from the TV. But this 'eye opener' experience, like how mum would put it, was really eye opening. People don't dance to the music, they move their body uncoordinatedly. There is no room to talk, there are no chairs, most people just stand in front of their drinks, trying to shout into each others' ears. The bar tenders.... boringringringringring.

Nope, still don't understand why people go clubbing. Dress up in short skirts and thick make ups, buy overpriced drinks and stand in front of them like it's punishment. Can't talk, can't really dance...
Mum said I have to move to the music and enjoy the music to not feel so bored. Frankly I have more fun listening to the music from my phone/computer. She said it would be more fun to go with my friends, maybe. But I don't think it's really my thing, clubbin'.

Poop

(Not for the easily disgusted)
Today during snack time, Ani suddenly handed over his bowl of rice untouched and chanted, "I need to go toilet." It was really cute, cuz he never really repeat his sentences that many times, and the sentence makes pretty good sense.

Anyways. Moments later the class teacher came back and told me to stay with him at the toilet. He must have been pooping, I thought. Imagine the horror when I was there he was holding on to this underwear full of poop, soft gooey poop, and so was it on the toilet bowl and everywhere on the toilet seat and all the impossible places.

Worried that he might panic and break into tears, I acted calm and tried to talk to him to distract him from the wait. He pointed to the cubicle wall, there was a plat of crap on it. "Wow" I said, "How did it get on there?" Then I saw another one at the back of the toilet bowl.

The teacher came with plastic bags for his 'stained' underwear and school shorts. I went looking for the cleaner, she wasn't too happy to know that the toilet has a major meltdown with poop literally everywhere.

It was so funny, maybe because I don't have to clean it (the toilet) or him, but just wrap up his shorts and swing it around like a yo-yo. The teacher did a pretty good job I think, not reprimanding him for it, but told him that it was not ok, that he has to tell the teachers about it.

Apparently he was trying to clean the underwear himself, by swinging it around and wiping it all over? That was really 'independent' and thoughtful of him really, for he didn't want to trouble the teachers or others but wanted to deal with the mess himself. Well it just turned out that it wasn't really the best choice for him. =)

The class teacher said it was a farewell gift for me. It was a phenomenal sight indeed. =P

Do you know how contagious yawning is?

I have this habit of looking at the rear mirror to check out the person in the car behind during traffic jams.
Today, the guy driver behind me yawned. And I yawned immediately after watching him stretch the muscles of his cheeks.

Yawns, amazingly contagious.

As we grow older we learn to think more, about responsibilities, consequences etc

not that I'm saying considering those are bad, it's just that sometimes we really think too much. (This is for you Jo).

So after 7 long months (at least) of thinking thinking thinking and more thinking,
I got the camera!
Panasonic Lumix DMC LX3 (or however the long name is arranged!)

It was totally suddenly. I told myself to decide on one decision (to buy or not) and stop thinking about it. After months of thinking and thinking and more thinking suddenly I decided to go for it and go get it WTH (I know I'm repeating myself but so what?)

During Korean class today, my brain was occupied with whether or not I should wait for someone to go with me, or later or another day or other stuff, if I really should get it, yada yada yada... why are you so kind to bother reading?
Then after class I told myself to head there, if there is parking I'll get it today, if there's none I'll get it some other day.

I circled the place twice and when I was about to leave, I found a parking! OMG I braved myself to get off the car and walk towards the building (Digital Mall S14).

I recognized the store, from the photo online. It was crowded with people while the other store keepers were staring into blankness hoping customers could come.

Anyways. After I confirmed that it was the right store, I went to take the money. Now my bank has RM1.32. Great.
Anyways. I felt really scared with RM1460 in my pocket. The thickness of the cash inside my pocket was crazy. From that ATM to the store, for that journey of 1 minute or less, I hesitated so much. Should I do this? Should I back out? Should I give more thought about it?

But I told myself to stop thinking about it. And walked over to the counter and put the money on the counter.

Anyways. Long story cut short, it's now here in the room. Battery charging for the fist time ever. I'm going to read through the manual while waiting for it to be ready for play. =)
Speaking of which, yes I am a person who reads manuals, unlike most people I know. Manuals are the best things for electronic items ok. Bye =)

The money we earned

Today we (YY and I) earned money!

We went to the water vending machine. YY dropped a coin into the coin slot.
But it got stuck.

What? No way we're gonna throw away that 20cents, I'm the president of the Auntie Club while YY is a very promising member! So we went digging. LOL

The little coin slot was full of coins. At first we saw 4, but the more we dig in the more there was.
Anyways.

We used YY's house keys cuz they were long and thin enough. Hitting the machine was not as helpful, but it did worked in certain times.

Anyways, with all the time in the world to spare, we sure did spend some amount of time in front of the machine, squinting our eyes and poking hard with that small key.

After some time we managed to get two 10cents out, but guess what? The two 50cents in there were so tempting. Hello, it's free money ok, plus I have nothing better to do. And it's not vandalism (whatever) cuz we were trying to 'fix' the machine.

In the end, after taking some turns digging the hole, we got out one of the 50cents, and a few others. MUAHAAHAA~
Though we didn't manage to 'fix' the machine, we earned RM1!

Awesome experience earning free money while worrying we'd be chased off by security guard. =)

Ghosts

I dreamed of going to the loo by myself during a dinner. Then saw a ghost in the mirror. Which I thought was someone at the opposite end so I shouted and scared her/it. Then go back and tell my friends (YanLing and KaiRong with babies?! and other unidentified people at the dinner table), which then made me realize it might be/was a ghost.

Scary. I woke up, eyes wide opened, and try to convince myself it's a dream and try to change my mind to focus on a good story. Before I was able to construct a nice story I dozed off. XP

Traditional Games

So today we carried out our project. KK became my guest *thankful*. And as we both stood there awkwardly with a bunch of talking people, I realized how similar we are... in a sad way. Anti-social and uncomfortable and awkward and out of place.
But I guess people shouldn't have noticed as they're so busy socializing with one another, laughing the day away.

I was a game master, but I felt more like an assistant instead. I didn't say much throughout the day, just tried to be my best to help, picking up bottles and 'darts' (as we were playing bowling and blowpipe the traditional way).
After few rounds of running into the bowling 'alley' and picking up the bottles as fast as I can then run out of the way (cuz people are so hostile throwing the coconuts I swear a few times they almost hit me) I started feeling really dizzy, and my legs went soft and wobbly. Grr I guess having a bad stamina really sucks.
But I held on long enough for the games to be over. Towars the end two guys helped me pick up the coconut and bottles and the darts I was so grateful. =)

Then I joined KK in the 'Chinese' rope jumping thingy, but I couldn't jump cuz my legs went wobbly. Then KK jumped by herself, or with the other teammate she had. Then as I was trying to take her picture she sprained her ankle and fell down.

"crack crack" I heard her ankle sprain. LOL OK I have limited vocabs please excuse that. It sounded realy painful. And she was there laughing away saying it would be cool if she really breaks a bone. Grr crazy girl!

It got more comfortable towards the end of the day, but I still felt out of place. For I should know the people cuz they are my teammates, but I didn't and still felt sticking out like a sore thumb, or more like an invisible thumb.

I suck at socializing. I wish I am better. I wish I am not so afraid all the time.

Filming

I was the cameraman.
Filming was crazy fun. Crazy long hours, Fun laughter moments.

There were times I doubted myself. If I should voice my opinion here and now, if I should just keep my silence and let the film owners decide, after all, it's not my assignment. I'm hereby proud to say I did voice out most stuff without thinking much. The effects of caffeine and exhaustion? Barely functioning brain was not that depressing after all.

-----==-----

7+am: I was awoken by the kids running in and out of the room.
The sun was slowly coming up but I figured I had more time to sleep.
almost 9am: Grandma called my name a few times. I didn't expect her to arrive so early. I pretended to sleep deeply, I don't wanna go no market with her I just wanna sleep.
But she did not give up and kept on calling my name so I had to wake up and fetch her to the hospital.
9.45am: After I did whatever I planned to do: trim my fringe, have a good long bath, wash some clothes, I knew the traffic is gonna be horrible.
When uncle asked me if I had time to fetch him to the Summit, not-saying-no-like-a-loser-as-always I said yes.
10.35am: We reached the Summit.
almost 11am when we reached Assunta hospital. Thank goodness I took the courage to turn on my CD player (which was playing a bunch of kiddy Korean songs to my grandparents) to avoid the awkward silence while trapped in the jam in USJ.
11.30am: I reached school. Worked on my assignment with another PMS group member.
12.05pm: rushed to another block for my Korean lesson, turns out the room is occupied, I semi-ran back to the original block just to know that my students weren't there yet. Grr
1+pm: Had lunch at my own sweet pace
2pm: Met up with the group member again to continue the assignment
3.30pm: I semi-ran back to the other block cuz I know I was late, just to find that people weren't all there yet. GRRR~
about 5pm: started shooting
8.30pm: the maintanence guy came to chase us away
9+pm: the guy came again
10+pm? The maintanence guy was nice enough to be so lenient
11pm: Shooting
12am: Shooting in the toilet cubicles which smelled pretty horrible for a weekend
Dunno what time: We left the school for supper at the mamak's. It's amazing how much people can eat at that hour of time.
1.15am: Reached home of YanLing's for a quick shower.
1.30am: Worried that YanLing wouldn't wake up forever when she did not move a muscle when I told her off to wake up.
...
.......
...
Shooting ended god knows what time. I know I slept at about 4am.
That was not sleeping so well cuz I was worried that I wouldn't wake up at the sound of the alarm.
6.10am: Wake up to the sound of maximum noise pollution. YanLing's old fashioned irritating ringing alarm clock+ no idea what music from her cell phone alarm at maximum volume plus my SNSD singing alarm.
6.40am: Reach school and stood there feeding mosquitos and smell carbon monoxide from passing cars, just to realize that we didn't charge the video camera's battery. GRRR BIG TIME!
8+am: Ended all scenes. At last. Finally. O my gosh.

If you think it's a long post, it was a even longer day for me. I wonder why I never stay up later than 11pm for my own assignment.
I was supposed to call my own group member to help her on our assignment but I just couldn't get through so I figured I should just come back and blog. Or sleep.

I'm so dead tired now, yet feel I shouldn't sleep. How?

10 y/o genius

child prodigyso to call.
the parent happens to be a gifted child too. The siblings have been developing faster than average Is there any genetic influence?
One thing I can say is that at least the kid is not alone, he has his father who should more or less understand what's he going through cuz he's been there himself (although totally different era), and he has his siblings around.
Will it foster competition? or geniuses just don't care?

but what is gifted? being smarter than everyone all their lives? does the intelligence increase as they grow? say they're smarter than adults during childhood, will they go so smart so smart when they reach adolescence or adulthood, or they just remain the same smart-ness? (OK I know I sound real stupid now)
But then again how is smart-ness/intelligence measured? For a lay man, a child talking about something deep that I don't understand is smart, an adult talking something deep that I don't understand is smart, so, for a layman we'll never know if the child is getting smarter or well, just remains the same. Get?

raptor 4?

i dreamed about me and lizzy. we met in cedar point and well, we decided to go for raptor after blue streak. In the dream Lizzy said it's name was "raptor 4". Dont ask me, as far as I know it's just called 'raptor'.
So, the platform was weirdly spaced out, my dream version is definitely very different from the reality version.

So we decided to go take the last seats, cuz the last seats are always the best.
Lizzy hesitated at first (I dunno why, she's usually the brave one) but I dragged her to the last seat anyways, away from Jordan. Wth, Jordan was in my dream, he was trying to narrate something to me when we were in the queue but he sucks at narrating I couldn't get him at all.
So we were at the last seats, Jordan sat by himself in the middle row.
Then when the ride was about to start we realized that it's not the normal kind of coaster but it's hanging, and each row fits only 2 people instead of 4 (I don't know why I'm so dumb in my dream but yeah).

Then to our utmost horror we were actually at the first row. I remember Lizzy screaming like shit and I was terrified to death, but ater like 3 seconds or so I started to relax and tried to open my eyes but the wind was too strong so I could only open one of my eye (the left one) and saw the pretty white clouds with the sky blue sky. And we were on top of a loop, with our legs kicking the sky.
Amazing feeling, but my alarm clock rang.

Forwarded mail. Awesome creation. =) Watch.

negative event turned pleasurable..?

I went shopping (kind of) while waiting the kids tuition-ing. I figured it's not wise to bring my laptop out (cuz all my notes are in it) as I always worry that I will be victim of snatch thief (yup, cultivation theory + subjective victimization risk) and do not wish to loose my beloved computer and all those treasure in it. Thus I studied quickly before I have to go out and finished all the materials that I've planned for the day.

Shopping alone is pretty ok. Just that there's nothing to shop. I spent 10minutes in the ladies clothing and spent the next hour in the kiddie stationery section being amazed by all the HighSchoolMusical,Spiderman,Transformers,BobtheBuilder,Barbie,DoratheExplorer, etcetc stationeries.

There was this auntie/taitai who purchased some stuff from the departmental store. She is in a hurry so she wanted the gift wrapping crew to just give her the wrapper and she'll go wrap it at home herself but the gift wrapper lady refused and took her time measuring the gift and wrapping it.
"Why you like that one. it's almost raining now, what if my goods gets wet? you already measure it, it takes 2 pieces of wrapper why can't you just give the wrapper to me, i'd wrap it at home, save your human resource. i parked my car at central and came all the way here to buy things from you but you don't even wants to listen to me, what kind of customer service is this? see, i've bought so many things you still refuse to give me the 2 wrappers that what, cost you less than 20cents. i can do the exact same wrapping at home, it's going to rain now why cant you just give me the wrapper and i go back now. if my things get wet who's going to be responsbile for it you tell me. you should talk to your manager blah blah blah blah blah..." (I know the things she said so well cuz she kept repeating over and over and over again).
What a nosy and bossy auntie right? sigh... spoil all the reputation of aunties...

Anyways after that the worker lady OF COURSE whined to her coworker,
"alah, she got children we don't have meh. why doesn't she care about our feelings. we have children too. why doesn't she care about our feelings blah blah blah"
(frankly I think the wrapper lady seriously running out of good points to defend herself). Not that I don't feel for her, but IMHO it's really not professional to complain so loud and clear in your workplace during working hours in front of customers.

Back to me...
Then I spent the last few minutes in Giant. Before a Chinese lady (from China) came asking me if the bottle of sunkist she was holding can be drank straight without adding water. So I asked the store person and he said only cold drinks, which the lady was ok with. Then she started to grab a random box of orange juice from the rack, I thought she'd be done with it but she turned back and asked me if it contains sugar. Apparently she wants fresh orange juice without water/sugar it made me wonder why she didn't bother to make the juice herself or eat orange straight.
Neways she put back, took another brand, put back, took another brand and i stood there telling her if it's meant to be drank straight (without adding water) and read for her the ingredients if it mentions adding sugar.

I love random incidents like this. Awesome, suddenly I helped someone. =P
