These days in the car with the 2 and a half year old KJ,
He would point out cars of the people he knows.
"Da Yee car! Da Yee car!"
"Teacher Kakus car ober there!"
"Teacher Angaa car! It went away~"
"Ooh, here comes car here comes car! Aaah!!!!"
For the past 1-2 weeks he's been noticing my car.
"Teacher KC car! Teacher KC car ober there!"
But then he learned the words "mine" and ownership. He would add 's to his name when it's his thing or he wants his turn. "Yohan's!" he would say.
One day he started, and it has then ever since be the same conversation for a few days now... Whenever he sees my car (same model same color) he'll go:
"Look! My car!"
I'd then reply, "Your car?"
"Yeah, your car!"
I'd say, "Yeah it's my car."
"My car."

Boy, Man, Guy
Tea break, kids are talking.
The conversation somehow led to the word 'guy'.
Teacher: Ethan, is your daddy a guy?
Ethan (super smart 3 year old): No, my daddy is not a guy, he is a man.
Teacher: Oh really? Your daddy is not a guy?
Ethan: (shoots teacher a mean look)
Teacher: What's with your face? Your daddy is a guy.
Ethan: (continue with the mean look) No. My daddy is a man, not guy.
Teacher: Your daddy is a girl.
Me: What? Your daddy is a girl?!
Ethan: (super angered, shooting meaner look)
Me: So your daddy is not a girl. But he's not a guy?
Ethan: He's a man.
Me: Then who's a guy? Are you a guy?
Ethan: (shoot me with the mean look) No. I'm a boy!
Me: Oh so you're not a guy, you're a boy.
Ethan: Yes.
Me: So can you tell me who's a guy?
Ethan: (shoot mean look)
Me: (still trying to check his definition of a guy) Who is a guy?
Ethan: (points to his friend across the table)
Me: Janice is a guy?
Ethan: No! ZhenFong.
Me: How can you be a boy and ZhenFong be a guy? He is 3 years old like you, if he's a guy then you're a guy too!
Ethan: (angered and confused)
Gosh, kids nowadays are so fierce. LOL! Nah! He just got up from his nap, of course he's irritable! Just a cute conversation with a 3 year old. For the record, I didn't manage to get his definition of a guy.

Bahasa
It's cute cuz ...
there's a kid who will say "Lapan!" after you tell her to "duduk!" and doesn't quite get it when you explain to her that "duduk" is not "tujuh".
there's a kid who is so used to saying "selamat pagi cikgu" everyday that the once a week revision class in the afternoon he'll say "selamat pagi petang cikgu".

Farting Dogs
3 Year old Adam
*dogs barking outside during music session*
Me: Do you hear the dogs?
Adam: Yes, the dogs are farting.
Me: *tahan laugh* The dogs are barking.
Adam: The dogs are barking. (cute how the kids like to echo exactly the same with the serious expression)
Me: Mm-hmm.
Adam: The dogs are fighting with each other.
Me: OH~~~

Blogging
Hmm.. My this blogger blog is almost 3 years old. I've transferred here from my multiply blog in Jan 2008.
First blog post was Sept 7, 2005. First post was the lyrics to a song, so typical I know. Bleh.
Over the years of blogging, some posts are really obvious, some are funny memories that I don't remember, some posts are so I-don't-even-know-what-who-where-why I wrote it because I wrote it in such a way no one would tell the main message which now I can't remember.
The first few posts. Ben's death news. Grandma's stay with us when she was really sick. The days Hern started taking lingzhi and had to run to the hospital every day or two. My random post about my abilities, love and etc. Malaysian parenting example. One I-don't-know-what-about post.
It is kind of fun. To go back to the years I've forgotten, even though it was just 5 years ago.

Ang Moh Lau
Yesterday
I slipped. More like had a fight between my oversized sandals and my toes and fell. No biggie.
At night I bumped my forehead on my cupboard when I was trying to pick up my notes which were flying about on the floor. Pain...
Then an ang moh lau* grew on my forehead. Still hurts now. =(
*Ang moh lau: [Hokkien] (Noun) literally means westerner's building.
1) tall, red brick buildings.
2) also used in naming a bruise to describe the tall and hard bump over the surface of skin.
Gory pictures
It's such a regret that we forgot to put our gory pictures in for our serial killer assignment. =(
What's done can't be undone. My personal fav is the one with blood all over the dismembered body on the bed. Resembles what I have in mind of our case so well...

Megazine
7 mediums of Mass Comm:
1)Internet
2)Radio
3)TV
4)Newspaper
5)Megazine
6)Motion Pictures
7)Books

I guess, during Masters in Mass Communication, they have this jargon called "Megazine", which normal people just don't understand.
This class is so fun. To a certain extent.
It got us laughing about and awake (sometimes) in the class.
There was this guy who said in his presentation that
"We chose newspaper because it is hysterical."
when he meant "historical"...
Yup, the guy was indeed hysterical.
After class, Luisa asked whether I would like to complain her to the head of department.
And so I followed.
The head of department wasn't in, but we got hold of the assistant.
The lady had a big office, but she didn't act like she deserve one.
I guess our complaint sort of got flushed down the toilet the moment it went to the snobbish-I-don't-care-about-other-people-other-than-myself-assistant.
It's not like it's untrue or something, so far, ADP sucks.
So glad I'm under psych department where every staff know their stuff and speaks good english and are helpful and friendly and are emphatic, the total opposite of ADP, the office located just right opposite psych's.

You've wore it on the exact day, my friend. Way to go!

Notice what's wrong in that list?
It was actually written by Miss Nik, our Mass Comm Masters Graduate, on the whiteboard during tutorial today.

The picture was taken in the second lecture class. The guy's shirt actually says "Lazy to bother you" (Malas nak peduli engkau)

Sorry
A very strong word when you mean it.
She said sorry.
I melted.
I felt so evil for being mad at her.

lame bottle of water
Yesterday,
at the bread store buying bread.
Kath only grabbed a bottle of water while Lydia & I had 2 kinds of bread each.
Kath: How much is it?
Me: It's ok, I'll treat you, it's valentines day. Will you be full with the bottle of water?
Kath: I'm not hungry.
Me: 有情饮水饱?(in cantonese: yau cheng yam shui bao) [explained later]
*burst into laughter*
Me: (to Lydia) there's this saying in Chinese that says "with love, water also can make you full".
After a while,
Kath: K-C, sorry you're not my cup of tea.
Me: I'm not your cup of tea, just your bottle of water.v
