it took 1 hour and 50minutes to pass through 5 road accidents to get to work today.
sigh. why do we have pathetic drivers who like to get careless on the same morning?

Wait
I've been busy crazy in school these days.
At the end of the day when I see the ferry line so long I get so fed up and just go to the bridge instead. But on days that I wait long enough, when the breeze blows on me it felt worth it to wait that long; but some days picturing the nice breeze just isn't enough to keep me waiting.

Cleanse
I used to travel a lot, swear to live next to my working place, only to get a job at this place which is 1 hour drive away from my house.
First few weeks I spent 1 hour to 1 hour fro work everyday, in the car it's sad. It's like the puke and saliva and germs from the kids will multiply and grow only to welcome me the next morning while I inhale it for an hour. I feel like I waste hours and hours of my life every day.
Then I learned to open the windows and enjoy the fresh air with the carbon monoxide.
Then I learned to take the ferry. I have time to read or make phone calls, sms or just be lazy while waiting; to walk out of the car and see the waves and feel the sea breeze. I've always loved taking the ferry, even Jo knows that, now I love it more. It makes my 1 hour so peaceful and enjoyable. It's like cleansing my soul after a tired day of mucus and poop and disobedience.
I know, people always give me that 'oh-so-you're-an-idiot' look whenever I tell them I got my degree and is teaching in a preschool. It's like the unwritten rule in the Malaysian Chinese society that university graduates don't work in kindergartens unless they're disabled in some sort of way.
And then they ask where is it, and when the answer is revealed they give me that 'oh-so you're-really-an-ultimate-idiot" look. *sigh*

Week 3
By far the messiest day. I tried to bring the kids out to paint, ended up having both of them rubbing paint off their hands right onto my freshly washed pants. Had the kid whining and puking into my hands the next moment. Practically fed children in a pile of soupy rice on table and floor. Dived my fingers into the kid's diaper to check, only to dive into a fountain of stinking soft shit. I've never seen such shit like serious. Overflowing, plus it wasn't just shit, looked like with some other substances inside the light-brown goo like curry leaves. It could almost pass off as curry, except it stink-ed like 10000times worse than awful smelling shit.
But I'm used to it now, I don't feel so sleepy after work or feel the urge to doze off by 9pm. I can survive till 11 now. I bounce up to live at the sound of the alarm and feel fresh not drowsy. I'm having fun everyday listening to the kids reason, and the colleague commented that I looked like I was enjoying myself at work. And the PMS is helping with being fiercer and less tolerable to undesirable behavior; louder and more stern, which I am trying to be.
I still haven't loved the 1 hour each traveling to and fro school, but I love the feeling of going back home all comfy and having all that I need and feeling pampered. Mum told me to continue traveling for the time being, she said I should be used to it since I've been in KL for so many years. But being in KL is the very reason that I hate traveling. I realized that traveling versus being with the family, I would prefer being with the family, even if we don't talk or stare into each others' faces all night long, it's the presence that counts.

The Car
"Going to SPB?" asked Jasmine.
The bus driver said yes.
I was standing behind them, still in the bus, when the driver started to drive away.
"Tunggu, tunggu!" I semi-cried for the bus to stop for I need to get down there.
I walked towards the housing area. As usual I walked in extreme caution, just in case someone decides to slash my shoulder and rob my backpack or whatsoever.
It was almost near where I parked my car this morning. As usual I would look towards the direction of my car, just to make sure it's still there. Yeah I'm paranoid that my car will be gone, this is, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, for your information. It's the safest city to live in don't you know that?
Back to the walking. So I was walking, and looking. As usual, I panicked that I couldn't see my car. As I walked closer, and closer and closer, I realized that unlike the many times, I am not wrong, the car really isn't there. I walked further up the road. I walked back to the beginning of the road, scanning properly at every car parked at the road, just in case I've forgotten where I parked it. I walked up the road again.
I called YanLing. I told her that my car might be missing, but I'm not sure. I tried to remain calm, and walked up the road and down again checking every car out, checking every nook and corner of the road (it was a pretty straight road wth) just in case my car is hiding there. I remembered very clearly that I parked my car at that one spot. I stood on that spot, rubbed my shoes against the uneven tar road. It is really gone. I'm not hallucinating or overseeing the vehicle, it is really gone.
I called YanLing and told her that it is gone, hoping that she would come and help me find my car which I have overlooked. I just stood there 'mong'. I told myself it might be the angry owners of the house didn't want the car to be there so they towed it away. So I just stood there at the petrol station, waiting for YanLing to come and tell me that hey, that's your car, what a silly person I was to overlook such a big vehicle.
She came with her packed dinner. She didn't even eat her dinner and she came to rescue me. She drove me up and down the road to recheck and make sure that it isn't there. Then she drove me to the police station.
It didn't quite get to me when the police called the tow-company and the city town hall thingy (DBKL) and the traffic police and the JPJ to check if anyone of them has towed the car away. Questions like was the car locked, was it yellow line, what time did you leave it there, what time did you realize it was gone, number plate, whose name was it under etc. It didn't quite bother me that much until the police told me to call dad to check if the payment is not overdue or anything. That's when I turned into the emotional wreck.
I told him the car was gone. Tears and my paused breathing choked me. He told me to report to the police and just tell the truth (whatever that is supposed to mean), he reassured me that the payment is paid up, and the insurance will take care of it so don't worry. He'll try to get me a car as soon as possible, just tell the truth, and it's ok.
(It's amazing how he can figure all that out so quickly all in one short phone call, that being he was driving.)
The police asked me if dad scolded me. I, who was still in lots of overflowing tears, replied that he didn't, I just felt really guilty. Actually I don't know if that was guilt. It just felt really bad. It was as if it is confirmed that it is gone, I wasn't being absent minded for forgetting where it is, it wasn't towed away and left at someplace for me to go pick it up, it is really really gone.
So the police was making a lot of phone calls. I tried to control my emotions and eventually stopped crying soon enough. Then her conversation on the phone. She told the other person that I'm a Chinese female first before any other information. Then she asked me a question in English, then told the person the answer (the conversation was in Malay) and then mumbled so softly and quickly, but I caught it, saying, "She doesn't know how to speak Malay." I felt so discriminated and bullied. Then she told the other person that the payment of the car has been settled and stuff, and she added, " or that's what she (me) claims," suggesting that that's what I said and might not be true. I cried again.
A moment ago I was just being very grateful that the police was really nice and friendly and helpful, which contradicts all the bad images the police has. (I have encountered some really nice police before so I don't hold extreme stereotypes to police as a whole) But when she said that, I just broke into tears again. Is that what dad meant when he told me to "just tell the truth, don't be afraid"?
So the many parties confirmed that my car wasn't towed away. Then we went for dinner cuz we needed to go to a bigger police station to file the report and be investigated at 2 and a half hours later.
I called back home and told the cousin that I'm not going back for dinner. I didn't tell her why. I just told her that I'll be back later.
My uncle (from dad's side) called. He stays in KL. He told me he got the news from my cousin sister in Pg. Great right, how fast does news travel in the family? Wow
Mum called. The reassure things, checking on my schedule and making sure I have transports to school and stuff. The car roadtax was just sent to me today. Yay now I have a new sticker, wth. I started tearing again. She told me that it's ok, as long as I am safe. and she's going to arrange a car down for me as soon as possible, perhaps tomorrow. (I'm going to tell you how sudden this all has happened to me and how fast the family has reacted and planned and make arrangements it scares me so much) Then I told her that I'm waiting to see the inspector at 2030hours, and she went, "why is it so long so late we should complain about these police" and I heard dad's voice at the background saying, "aiyo no need la as long as she is safe..." parents. =)
We just stayed at the Indian store and sip on our ice-lemon teas while waiting for the time to come. We chatted. It was nice talking to YanLing, at moments I would interrupt her to tell her the thoughts that are bothering me at the moment, and she just listened. It was really nice chatting with her, as usual; but to feel that we are waiting for something just didn't feel that perfect.
Anyhoos. It was time to go lodge the report. So thepolice inspector asked me how many siblings I have. I was at a total lost of words. Then she asked which birth order I am (eldest, middle youngest etc), after I told her I have a younger sister and a younger brother. So logical right. Yeah.
Anyways. So she asked about where I'm currently living in, with whom, what is their job etc. Then she asked about the car, was it locked, do I always park there, did I ask anyone around there if they've seen it, what time was it left there and realized, where was I when the car was there, and she told me to draw a picture of the place that I parked the car. And she praised my drawing for being nice (so out of place but still boosts esteem for something that I just sketched simply, frankly it looked like shit, but apparently she liked it oh well)
Aunt called. She told me that she knew about it from my mum. (Thanks mum for breaking the news!) And offered to fetch me back from the police station.
The time was almost up. So we left. And YanLing dropped me at a point where my aunt was waiting for me to pick me up and go home. I was really worried that I would break down and cry and I don't know, go emo? with the people in the house, but thanks to the time I spent with YanLing I cleared out my thoughts and stabilized my emotions. She knew, what I was worried about, and I really appreciated that.
In the end, I handled it really well, or so I think. Aunt asked me how it got stolen, I told the story in a very positive and joking manner. "I parked the car there, and when I went back it wasn't there anymore, so I called my friend to check and make sure. Then we went to the police station and made a report." I made it sounded like I just lost a RM1 note. I was amused by myself.
But I stayed quiet like I always am after that short period of question and answer. I just needed to sit and laze and 'mong'.
Back home, grandma asked me why I came back with aunt at the same time. I told her casually that aunt fetched me. She casually asked me, "what about your car?" I casually told her, "It's gone." and walked away. She made a funny face sticking her tongue out thinking I was joking with her. Then aunt said, "It's true." So I went back to the living room mentally prepared for interrogation, but grandma was still in the state of disbelief and shock kinda, so not much question and answer went on.
She came to the room later and told me to be careful. And she mumbled some stuff I couldn't really comprehend, I just nodded acknowledging.
Now, though I've accepted that it's gone, I still wish that it's not gone yet. I didn't tell people it's 'stolen', I tell them it's 'lost'. Because it really is. I still wish that I've made a mistake, I would go back to school tomorrow and find it there, at the road, perhaps at another spot. i really still believe that if I do look carefully I'm going to find it. Then I would go back to the police station and apologize for the silly confusion because my car has been there all the evening and I didn't see it.
Things I've lost?
House keys. That has made the people in the house a little panicky. The girl is worried that people would come into the house and steal her things now.
Ernie. He survived the last robbery when Elmo was kidnapped and never to be heard of again. Now he's really gone. How sad is his life that he has to go through two robberies, once because he was too ugly he was left behind by the thieves, the other time he's really gone with the car. I just took a picture of him a few days ago..
I left my snacks in my new green container in the basket in front. i guess that's lost too.
Other than some CDs, some parking tickets, some coins and tissue packets and some ubat kutu and my very very cheap formal shoewear at the boot, I don't think anything is stolen along with the car. That's all that I can remember that's in my car, but somehow I feel that something more important is in there, and I can't remember what it is.
Why do people want to steal the car anyways? The roadtax is expiring really soon, the alignment is out, the car is filthy dirty, it has an almost full tank of gas though. Sigh.
The bus driver said yes.

o.O
Is it just me, or cars’ headlights are getting so bright they’re distracting if not disabling safe driving? These days driving in the dark is kinda uncomfortable and scary. The cars’ lights or my eye?

When people know that I know Korean, they are very much likely to get me to speak a few sentences. I don’t know, if they are really curious how ‘Korean’ my accent can be, or that they doubt that I might be cheating.. Not like they can understand anyways, if I really do cheat. =) “취직하는 거 너무 어려워요.”
This afternoon
I went out to the cafe. Brought a whole lot of stuff: huge magazine, korean homework, laptop.
I just sat at a quiet corner, with my things all laid by me.
Enjoyed my McChicken meal.
Flipped the magazine, read some articles.
Turned on my laptop and watched WGM.
Complete a few questions from my homework stack.
It was such a relaxing few hours.
My initial plan was to work (school stuff or course). But it turned out to be a laid back moment for me and myself. Stress free.
I don't know why I did that. but I like it.
On the way out I took a little detour.
Found a new route. Delighted with my adventure mode. After all, not everyday I would ignore my gradually lowering petrol level and go explore new places in the neighborhood. =)
Then got lost in the maze. i turned in and out, left and right, into the no entry road, U turn and all those crazy acts. I thought I was in a hurry so I drove like crazy. But I wasn't you see.
Anyways. As much as I would like to trust my instincts, my instincts don't have good sense of directions.

Ticket
Today my car got a parking ticket.
For parking by the road side, inside the yellow line on the grassy part.
The officer told the person from the school (Who witnessed it and tried to negotiate) that the cars are destroying the grass.
It said on the ticket, RM100, that my car was disrupting traffic. For goodness sake, my car wasn't disrupting no stupid traffic, cars don't drive to hide between trees the last time I checked. No matter how Malaysian-ized the drivers here can be, there is no way my car can be obstructing traffic of any kind. Plus, didn't the guy said it was killing the weeds? I mean grass?! Why wouldn't he just tick the box saying destroying plants wth. It was a damn great 'garden' I was destroying.
Not forgetting, where the heck should I park the car anyways? The entire area was residential area and the entire freaking place was in yellow lines. WTH where else can I park my car? In the classroom?
Now where should I go get RM50 within 14 days? I'm financially so tight because of the camera, I have RM35 left till the end of the month for food. And that's a good 3 more weeks.

Road bumps
After 1 week of absence from this place, the road back to my house has 4 additional road bumps (or humps, whichever you call the bulge over the 'smooth' tar surface to make cars slow down or else bump their car boots off). From 11, now I have to pass 15 bumps.
So now when I leave to anywhere, anywhere at all, I have to either pass by 12 bumps (from house) and 15 bumps (to house), or take another route which is about 10km further.
Great. Plus the port holes and other weird holes and uneven patches. We wonder why our car alignment gets misaligned so badly. Someone should subsidize the money to fix our car alignment, or just fix the road conditions.

Mindful I need to be
On the way back it was super traffic. Friday after work traffic, as expected. People driving like barbarians, couldn't care less could they?
I saw this Malay guy driving this van labeled University Malaya Kediaman xxxx. He was actually driving without a shirt on. Hmm...
I kind of kissed the car in front of me when I U-turned. There was a soft banging sound, of two cheap pieces of semi-metal-plastic material hitting into each other, and the driver turned his head to check. I panicked and spaced out (I guess that made me I looked calm like nothing happened). Gosh lucky thing the car was unharmed.
Being mindful konon.
Car Wiped
I wiped my car! Not wash, but wiped.
Cuz Jo said my car's so dirty it has to be washed twice to be really clean.
So I thought it would be better to give wiping a try. It's not so bad, but it took 2 hours, to clean inside out.
I didn't scrub the floor mats, nor I did scrub the tyres, or spray high pressured water to the sides of the tyres.
But I did remember to wipe the door handles, tyre rims, antenna, the boot and the thing that sticks out above the back of the car.
The dirty car made the water so so so dirty. The neighbor asked me if I was going to the market when she saw me holding the bucket (auntie-style hanging on the arm). LOL.
Then she asked me, "How frequent do you wash your car?"
"Erm.. 2-3 times a year?"
"A year?!?!" and she walked away in disbelief.
Sigh.
This is actually my first time cleaning the car after I came back from WAT USA.
There was a piece of gum stuck right in the middle of my bonnet a few days ago, if I catch whoever did that, I'm gonna stuff a kilogram's gum into the offender's mouth and choke him/her/it to death! So inconsiderate my gosh, took me so long and so much energy and pain to remove it, and there is still a small stain now. Gahh!!
I know how I used to wish I'd have a boyfriend (or man maid whatever) whenever I washed my car, but today I realized that to wash my own car is actually a good thing.
Obviously it's because it's free, and the exercise. There is also this time, when I actually take time to really 'know' my car. Oh, so this part here actually sticks out... Oh, I've got a scratch at this weird place, and stuff.
idiot
early morning I struggled to wake up. It's 6.30am, too early plus I woke up a few times during the night I felt like skipping the class i plan to sit in.
I hurried to the classroom to find nobody there. I felt like strangling myself for not checking the venue. I figured by the time I walked to the right venue at another block 5 minutes away I'd be late. I don't want people to watch me go in, I'm only sitting in so I figured I'd only attend next week's class.
6.50am I finally found the will to wake up. 7.40am I reached school but the bus was full. I waited the next bus and it only departed from the main block at 7.55am. Gosh I was late, as I reached the school at 8am sharp.

Argh. Today's plan was 8am class, 10am meeting, 12pm tuition, 3.30pm class.
8am to 6.30pm isn't exactly what it says. It actually says 7am depart from house, 8pm reach home. Did I mention that I hate KL?
Do I look like I have more energy to give a shit?
6pm class dismissed. I called grandma, she told me to go fetch her at the hospital.
6.33pm board 2nd helpbus.
6.47pm reach mainblock.
6.59pm reach car in front of Lyd's house.
Go through bangsar, smooth sailed, stared to jam immediately upon touching Federal.
8.04pm The aunt called, asking me where I was, telling me that they're at the hospital, no need to fetch grandma.
8.23pm Started to leave brake free for real.
8.40pm Reach home same time with the wentire family from the hospital.
If you don't get the math, I've been in the traffic for almost 2 hours, stepping hard on the brake, leeting it slightly to slide to then brake again for more than 1 whole hour.
Car Service
At last I brought my car to service, after 600km past the supposed-repairing-mileage.
The bill summed up to RM205. Cuz the guy thinks my start plug is not in good condition anymore (RM60 gone), plus doing balancing (this one not expensive) which leads to the mechanic realizing that my chamber is not in good condition, thus installing another screw for RM35. Crazy screw, such a small simple thing cost me so much.
Plus alignment plus my engine oil etc totals up to RM205. Must have been the most expensivest car service ever. Lucky thing I brought extra RM50 before I went out the house, or else I'll be so embarrassed to be too poor to pay for my car service after I say, "OK, change" to everything!
The mechanic asked me what engine oil to use... Erm, do I look like I know?
He called me over to the rack and showed me the engine oil bottles. Grey, blue and yellow, and the price, he told me. I said either blue or yellow, not grey. Then he replied, "It's not about the color of the bottle but the type of oil inside." *roll eyes* I thought he introduced the color to me in the first place?
Then he showed me the start plug (I studied KH so I know the usage of it) and said it's not in good condition anymore. Hmm, probably cheat cuz obviously I can't tell, and the plug he showed me was all black covered in dirty oil anyways. Wanna change new one? Rm60 for an original set. Sigh, I didn't want to be conned my money but he seemed quite genuine, on the other hand I don't want to save the money and get into trouble later on resulting in spending more money. So I said, "change lar."
Then he was doing balancing. He looked at me, and the thought that run through my mind was, "shit. another problem, more money?"
So he pointed at the screen. Muahaha I'm proud to say I understood the screen. Good= -0.5 to +05 but my tyre chamber is at -0.9. Thanks to studying stats & correlation I know what the numbers mean. =)
Want to put in the new screw? he asked me. Change lar I said.
"Is this car yours?"
"Yes. No. It's my mum's, but I drive it"
"Do you want to ask her first whether or not to change, cuz the bill's gonna sum up to quite a bit."
(Very considerate. Tahu pun. *roll eyes*)
So I changed, cuz he said if don't change the tyre will be khakis-ed a bit.
Anyways the whole process took 2 hours. Bored the hell out of me, but well, now my car is in good condition, better at least. Plus I'm RM205 poorer than I'm already am.

You'll know it's Friday
When I post about horrible traffic jams.
more than 1 and a half hours... I arrived home 8 sharp sharp.
Exhausted despite the short hours of class.
And people ask if I wanna work in KL after graduation;
no unless I live next door to where I work.

The Nursery Rhyme of the good old days
One shall never know whether she is going further into the crowd or moving further away.
For more than 1 hour, I
braked
sang
braked
shouted
braked
danced
braked
fling my head
accelerated
braked
clapped
smiled to no one
stretched my arms
etc etc
just to keep myself awake.
无奈,我仰头看了渐渐变暗的天空
月亮好早出来啊
还是时候已不早了?
I shouted to the crescent in the sky,
"I see the moon,
And the moon sees me.
God bless the moon,
and God bless me."
It was one of the rhymes in one of my nursery rhyme books.
I hate driving.
8.15p
That was the time after a super long day of classes and presentation followed by a super horrifying traffic jam. In which I stepped into the house so tired I wish I can just lie down and sleep but instead got questioned about being late.
I wonder why I bothered to explain when the tone was clearly doubting me, accusing me for telling a lie.
Then when I was eating by my lonesome self with all those evil negative thoughts circling my head the TV played the USA national anthem. It brought back so much memories. I thought to myself, how nice would it have been to still be there, though days are hard and tiring, we don't have to worry or think too far into the future. All we need to do is go back to our home in which nobody will nag me for sure, sleep and wake up to greet another brand new day.
It all went away when Aunt GHong called and asked HHin to sing for me. I wanted to record it but he sang real quick, as soon as he grabbed the phone.
Which he did twice, 有一个笨头猪猪猪,他的名字叫 Yang Hoe Hin.
(Translation: There is a stupid head pig pig pig, his name is Yang Hoe Hin)
It's the cutesy song I introduced to him months ago.
I guess Jack has been playing the song for him often enough. LOL
And what's with his own name my gosh!
Today during meeting Thava saw pictures of HHin on my desktop (Cuz he's my wallpaper) and said he's so cute. LOL And Edwin got jealous obviously cuz I've got a cutie pie son. *Proud* =)

I would apprecaite if
1 you'd stop stepping on my bed
2 you'd stop going through my things
3 you'd answer your god damn phone
4 you'd just stop nagging
5 you'd just shut the hell up
thank you.

It's been a long tiring day.
