Addicted to Chocolate
Yesterday I went to the mall, and bought one big bar. I told myself that the limit is 4 cubes per day max, no negotiation. Hopefully the bar lasts 2 weeks.
I've read that chocolate is happy food, it's always been my excuse to binge eat. =P Lately I learned that it has anti-oxidants in it, which made me happier for another better reason to eat more.
Then I read that it's a potential cough-preventor? That's why I didn't get sick when the entire school staff is sick last month? Wow!
Hai Boey Restaurant @ Gertak Sanggul
The very limited nice view of the beach. Not too bad, but for a sea-view restaurant, well, let's say tourists would be excited. We (10 people) went to visit the famous seafood restaurant in Gertak Sanggul. Ordered a few dishes of food: Tofu, brinjal with meat, Tong Po pork with mini buns, lobster char hor fun (RM300!!), bittergourd (which was only half a bitter gourd), steamed fish (RM123!!) and a dish of mized vege.
Price: Reviews online said it's a little expensive, but after one experience I'd say it's way overpriced.
Taste: The food wasn't awesome can fly. Even at a cheaper price I don't think I would go all the way (it's not that far actually) to eat there again.
Ambience: The place is clean, I think. Slightly stinking toilet, but acceptable for Malaysian standard.
View: There are benches and chairs at the beach, with 3 swings hanging on the poor tree. But kids would enjoy it. We didn't manage to enjoy the sunset today as it was blocked by the hills at the side. Maybe it doesn't block it everyday, who knows. =P
It wasn't particularly windy (read: the tree leaves stood still like they were in the marching team), as it was in the teluk bay, blocked by small hills at both sides. Go back again? Nah. I better spend that money to go TGI Fridays.
Apple Pie
Jack came and made the apple pie he promised weeks ago! It was heavenly and goes oh so well with the vanilla ice-cream. I'm not a fan of apple pies or apple crumbles, but oh-superlicious!Go Healthy
Anyways. It's Chinese and herbal and healthy and yea you get the idea. It's like a restaurant ran by greatgreatgreat chinese grand mothers. Serious.
YY had ginseng something something. nice nice nice. supposed to be make her more alert and smarter. I bet she's turned into a genius today.
I had noodles something in something wine. nice but once I start eating in it's kinda jelak for me. It's supposed to promote blood circulation and something something. Then we had the cucumber thingy (RM2) (check bottom of picture) which was heavenly! Though it's just a side dish I think I'm going to have 5 of that for main course next time! Jokes aside, it's suppose to be good for skin and hair condition something. You get the point, every food is good for the body.
The food's yummy with decent herbal flavors, but I think there's MSG. Then there's our drink. Both of us ordered the ginseng with chrysanthemum something (by now you should be able to tell that But it was really nice. Can got for another round, but I would most probably opt for something with a bland taste as I prefer it over a strong one. And the cucumber too! And we shall share drinks.
Potong Red Bean
Is it just me or the Potong Read Bean ice-cream tastes like crap now?
I remembered it to be so full of red beans I didn't favourite it (I'm not a fan of red bean). I remembered it to be nice especially the 'popsicle' part (since it's not really ice-cream) because I'm a fan of ice-cream.
Just now grandma handed me one of the Potong Red Bean Ice-cream. After so many years not having it, I was delighted. But oh crap. First bite felt like crap. It was not smooth, there were no red beans nor tasted like red bean. The texture was rough and tasted like crap. Ok I'm repeating myself. It tasted on a whole new level of crappy ice-cream. Even cheap ice-creams dont taste that bad.
OMG what has happened?
Dinner with Julianne
But this time no more barbeque, we just had ttok-bokki (however you spell it) which is Korean rice cakes, and kalbi-tang which is beef ribs soup (with Korean glass noodles).
It was at the new restaurant in the newly opened (exact date unsure) Subang Carefour (exact name unsure) called the Seoul Palace or something (again, exact name unsure). So we were one of the few (2) tables there, in the almost empty restaurant in the almost empty mall, it was really nice and quiet and peaceful.
The decos there were really nice. As you can see not really clearly in the picture, we sat on 'chairs' with seats but no legs so pretty much on the floor, with a deeper 'hole' as space for our legs. As you can already tell I'm not good at describing and naming things, limited vocab. Anyways. I think you'd get the idea, if not you can just go have a try at that restaurant.
Food wise it's pretty good. Ttok-bokki was chewy and somewhat spicy, unlike the one at Garden's GoHyang which was a little more on the sweet side. Kalbi-tang was yummilicious, as Ju said, "Very nice smell of beef, but not too strong. ..." and something else she commented I forgot.
Irresistible
Second week I started having some fruits, then have some of the leftovers during snack time.
Third week I take the food and have second helpings even though I was so full.
The thing about me is, when it comes to food, it's irresistible. That's how I grew from a skinny skeleton to me today. And still growing. =S
Snack
Instant mushroom soup with a stick of bread, short soft one.
Yummilicious.
Lunch
Lazy to cut onions therefore it was just rice, sausage, long beans, oil and instant mix.
Way too salty for that tiny bit of rice, I put some pepper. Ended up so salty and so pepper hot.
I am a good cook. At least I shall be.
Dinner tonight
I looked up and down, in and out, top and bottom but just couldn't find any egg. Pathetic craving for eggs.
The initial plan was to just have plain rice. But I was too dumb to function the digital rice cooker. It took me quite some time to figure that rice cooker out. Plus 1 person's rice is too difficult to estimate. It ended up kind of too watery, but I like it moist, good for my sore-y tonsils anyways.
Then I decided meat slices can go with rice. It didn't taste like pork, maybe it was beef. Whatever.
I made some fries with a potato. Burned the first few sticks because the fire was too excited and the poor potatoes were cut too thin, and I was busy cutting off the remaining potato. But it turned out really yummy.
Found crab sticks, so fried some too, since I was already frying.
Not exactly healthy and full of carbs, but it's my dinner tonight. Rice, vege, meat and seafood. Only lacking tofu and soup. Bleh. I can cook too. LOL
For lunch I had instant noodles, with cheese slice. Yum~
This is gonna be a rather long post I presume
Silvia bought new pendrive for me. =) As much as wanting to take it from her, feel so guilty to take things for free. Neways it's a cool pendrive. 4GB! Now I don't need to delete anything for years~
We went for a feast in Kajang. Yummilicious satays with ok-ok sauce. I managed to eat 8 sticks of the yum-a-dum-dum satays while our eating queen ms LaiThin ate 10 just like that! So much of being a big eater YY had only 8 while KK small eater as always managed to eat 6. All the way to Kajang was quite worth it, but let's not do it often k. And I realized KK is a bad bad person to rely on to get directions!
Thanks to Murphy's Law I came home with a full tummy and grandma insisted that I drink coconut water + eat a cookie sumore. Frankly I love coconut water and the cookie thingy but I'm so full~ So now I'm really stuffed. So much for 'there's no such thing as too much good food?'!
I mailed LG & Samsung yesterday asking about their plans to launch their phones in which they replied today but sigh so sad they both said no. Apparently LG Lollipop is still in its market research phase whatever. And Samsung does not have any phones that can support Korean input. Sigh...
Emergency meeting for our I/O Psych project. Seems like we've left out a few stuff on our part.
I am not sure but it seems the girls are pretty firm on the floral dress thingy and apparently KK has plans to wear it out to the beach... *drop jaw* Wear it yourself k.
고향 Ko Hyang (home town)
Kathleen & I went for Korean food. What can I do if you like to eat crumbie (food that leaves a lot of crumbs) and talk with your mouth full in my car?
What can I do if you said it would be fast but ended up to be half an hour?
Just so you know,
if you think you can buy forgiveness
with a piece of 'ban zhang kuih',
you're so right!
*pick up crumbs* Forgiven! *slurp*

Odd meals
Almost died of hunger when we had porridge at 4.45pm. Before realizing it was dinner!
Oh kill me please~ Who the hell has porridge for dinner! at 4.45pm?!
Had supper at 7.45pm. Another slice of bread, the last one...
Now at 10.45pm, I'm hungry again.
HELP!
Instant Sausages
The alarm rang, and sort of got a shock when I saw the sunlight shining through the curtains. I knew immediately that I was late, jumped out the bed and rushed to wash up. Then drove off immediately.
Lucky me I set the alarm early for yesterday morning, or else God knows what time I'll end up waking up.
Get to talk to some other people today, about issues that has been occupying my mind. And felt so much better and hyper, if you have noticed at the second half of the day.
Came back real late because of the absurd massive jam.
Almost died of hunger, my biscuits that I store in the car ran out of stock...
So my surprise for today? Japanese Instant Sausages!Uncle and family went Japan and I've got souvenirs!
Other than shirt and cool key chains, I get to taste the instant sausages! It's such a cool thing,
just buy, unwrap and eat!
And it tastes less artificial than our chicken brand sausages.
Since I couldn't share it with all of you,
I figured I should take a photo,
to at least let you know that such things exists.
It's so cool!
Imagine we'll just have to get cupboards and store all those instant food and no need to do cooking or heating up!
OMG I'll love life even more then.
Get Good Western Food In KL for Less Than RM5
But still, after today, I don't really fancy KL food. It's just Penang food is always the best.
But still, we have to recommend good food when we see them.
Restaurant: ... (I didn't get the name)
Address: Level 1, Manulife Jalan Dungun, Kuala Lumpur.
Note: pictures were taken after food was eaten.
1st ranking:
Roasted Chicken (RM4.90)
Taste: not to the extent that you can die for, maybe faint for, for that prize.
Note: It's real chicken.
Advise: Order this!
People recommended Chicken Chop (RM4.90)
It was quite nice, but not as nice as Roasted Chicken.
Just that the gravy was a little too starchy.
We also tried:
Fish & Chips (RM4.90)
Taste: so-so because it's frozen fish fingers, sigh, not even real fish. And we're staying in Malaysia.
Advise: Don't bother to try.
Overall the food was not bad for its price.
Even a simple meatless chicken chop costs RM6-RM8 in hawker stalls in Penang.
So yea, not a bad place to get food at all.
M&Ms
After a year of blogging it for my birthday present, I really got them!
YonMi got me a party pack, which was really thoughtful of her... *kiss*
And when I thought birthday is only coming again in many month's time, KaiRong got me another pack!
My goodness, these bunch of people are simply awesome.
KaiRong got me a pack of this, even after the birthday so long. isn't she thoughtful?
Though my all time favorite is this- milk chocolate,
Haha, perhaps I'll go round the world scouting for M&Ms. Whoa, it will then be wonderful life.
The other day at home, there was a stack of leaflets in Jo's room.
Out of curiosity, I took a look.
They sold M&Ms T-shirts during christmas last year!
Man~ I missed it!
And Hern said he can print them for me. Never thought of keeping his word, this boy.
let's party!
Loads of great food, loud music, loud kids, ... parents, etc etc
the only downside is I'm having test tomorrow. Sigh!
I kind of missed parties.
Noise is like the oomph of it.
Music, TV, adults talking, kids screaming in excitement, ... ...
the eat till u drop dead good food, drink till you get brain freeze iced carbonated drinks, normal games that get superbly fun, etc etc... ...
Happy birthday girl.
Hope you like the book. It's my fav.
