Camp

(Should post pictures of the awesomeness of the event, but pictures are with one of the participants as my camera went for a little holiday, oh well)

Organized a little camp/sleepover at home over the weekend. It wasn't grand, only 10 people including myself, but it was kinda fun, and I think it has met the objective.

I started thinking about it when I realized that many of our family gatherings are actually "bring your tech gadget and face the screen" sessions, that all of us will play with our own machine at the same venue and time. iPhone, iTouch, laptop, iPad, play station, you name it; everyone would have their own thing to face and there'll be minimal conversations. So we came up with this camping/ sleepover thingy, smart phones, gadgets, and screeny stuff were banned. LOL

The boys were a little too excited and out of control, but basically I think the event went fine. We slept in the hall, with blankets hanging over some of our heads, and having them falling down in the middle of the night (you have to be there to witness the madness and dust like seriously).

We played games which forced us to be silly, creative, and most importantly get to know each other better.

We should do it again! With more people maybe. Some of the kiddos missed out cuz they're having exams, or well, just too grown up to hang out with us anymore.
